Final Assembly

First operation is to solvent weld the translucent tubing in to the top fitting. Because there is a slight disparity between the imperial pipe and the metric fitting, it needs a lot of glue, if mixed with some plastic filings the joint will be stronger. After the welding has cured, we suggest any gaps are filled with mastic.

This welding sequence is now repeated with the bottom fitting, ensuring that the relationship between entry and exit is as you require them, you only get one go at this!

The basic assembly is now complete, the addition of the non-return valve (with inserts to bring the size to 40mm), and the flow control valve, can be done to suit your final installation. We would recommend that both are located relatively close to the filter, and make sure the non-return valve allows flow toward the filter. Draw an arrow on it to make sure it's the right way around!

The flow control arrangement shown is a filter bypass, rather than a throttling arrangement as previously described. This requires a little more 40mm pipe (3 x 75mm, 1 x 380mm lengths), and 2 x 40mm swept tees, but maintains maximum flow out of the unit. Assemble the complete bypass pipework before putting on the filter body, otherwise you'll have trouble with the final fitting.

If required, the hosetails can also be welded to the inlet and outlet pipes at this time.
