Hi I have just set up a new garden pond. It holds 750 litres of waters I have 4 Gudgeon, 4 koi carp, 4 Goldfish in it - each one is about 2 inches long. The problem that I have is that the sides to the pond have gone green. Is this normal or should I treat it and if so with what? I have got a filter and a u v light I have also got lillies and oxygenating plants. I don't think that I am over feeding them. Please help.
Regards Julie

The key is to get your balance correct.
Some algae is good, some is bad. If it is fuzzy algae that coats your pond is in good because your fish will eat the algae. If it is super stringy than that could be string algae and could be an issue.

Always remember, nutrients into your system must equal nutrients coming out of your system. There are many additives you can add to your pond that will help create beneficial bacteria that will help compete with algae.

Also, put plants in your pond because that will directly compete with algae as well.
